Indexing: How It Works
Helping You Create an Index for Your Manuscript
Upon receipt of your manuscript, we will review your research and select an indexing expert who is knowledgeable about your area of scholarship.
After selecting the best indexer for your project, we will schedule a consultation with you to best understand how you would like to structure the different parts of your index and how detailed you want the index to be.
Our expert will review your research and begin the indexing work. Examples of subject areas taken into consideration include:
- Names & Places
- Subjects
- Primary Sources
One of our managing editors will review the index and then send it to you with any relevant follow-up queries or issues to address.
You can review the index, suggesting changes and revisions to ensure that it is accessible to your readers. We will review your changes and send you a clean version so you can send your manuscript off to print.
